A legal counselor is a law professional or an attorney whose main job is to provide legal advice to their clients. Legal counselors can be a firm, an independent individual, or a corporation. They represent clients in legal matters in criminal as well as civil cases. A legal counselor can practice law individually or for an organization. 

 

What does a Legal counselor do?

 

The main role of a Legal Counselor is to provide one-on-one client representation in legal cases (civil and criminal) and to lead the company’s legal team while supporting their litigation and compliance efforts. 

 

They oversee and direct legal compliances, help in making complicated legal decisions for the company, and manage negotiations on their behalf. They are also responsible for monitoring all legal aspects of the company and ensuring that the company is adhering to business laws.

Our company is on the lookout for a Legal Counselor to join our legal team. You will be responsible for reviewing, interpreting, and translating legal and communicating them to our management team and stakeholders. Duties and responsibilities

  • Provide legal support

  • Protect the company’s industrial designs, patents, and trademarks
  • Execute risk management techniques

  • Undergo communication and negotiation with external parties
  • Stay updated with current trends and developments in the law

 

Key requirements

  • Master’s degree in Law or similar discipline
  • Proven work experience as a Legal Counsel for 3+ years
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Great organizational and time management skills
  • Proficiency in administrative and corporate law and procedures
  • Ability to develop and maintain legal strategies and defenses
